More details have surfaced on what to expect from the iPhone 15 coming later this year: thinner bezels on the two Pro models and curved edges on all four handsets for an Apple Watch-like aesthetic.
This comes from an experienced Apple tipster ShrimpApplePro (opens in a new tab) (by MacRumors (opens in a new tab)), which says the display sizes on the four phones will remain the same as last year. What’s more, Dynamic Island will also appear on every model.
Typer emphasizes that the screens will remain flat – only the bezels will curve in the rest of the phone’s casing. However, apparently there will be no big changes to the design of the selfie camera phone.
Well I got the result for the iPhone 15 series display design. – all the 15 series iPhones will have the same display sizes as the 14 series iPhones – the Pro 15 will have thinner bezels with curved edges, the display is still flat , only the frames are curvedJanuary 21, 2023
Take a look at the iPhone 14 and you’ll see that the bezels are already impressively thin, so it’ll be interesting to see exactly how much they’re reduced when it comes to the two more expensive phones in the range.
We would also like to see those curved bezels. It’s possible that Apple could go back to a more curved design, similar to the iPhone 11. This wouldn’t be the first time the iPhone screen has narrowed at the edges.
A source here calls the most expensive model the “iPhone 15 Pro Max (aka Ultra)”, admitting that we’re still not sure what Apple intends to call this phone: we’ve heard a few rumors about the iPhone 15 Ultra in recent weeks.
Analysis: the most beautiful iPhone yet?
The same leak that provided this new information also says that the iPhone 15 Pro Max (or iPhone 15 Ultra) is apparently “very beautiful” – and from the description we can see how these phones would have a lot of visual appeal.
Thanks to the thinner bezels on the Pro models, almost the entire screen will be taken up by actual pixels. Add a curved effect right at the edges, and we get the impression that the line of the iPhone 15 can be very pleasing to the eye.
While these thinner bezels won’t be coming to the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, according to the rumor, these phones will also be slightly curved at the edges. The angular look seems to be gone and the more rounded look is back.
Given the experience and expertise of Apple’s design team, we can’t wait to see what the iPhone 15 series has to offer in terms of actual design – and it’s been a few years since we were able to say it.
